Cumberworth AFC as got a superb new headquarters and training base, members hope this will help them develop junior and senior football for years to come.
The £150, 000 centre of sporting excellence at Birdsedge was officially opened by two Huddersfield Town players.
Jon Stead, the £1m-plus rated top scorer who scored twice in TownOs 3-3 draw at Mansfield on Saturday, and captain Rob Edwards led the celebrations.
The club received £108, 000 from the Football Foundation to help trans- form outdated facilities.
Committee member David Smith said the new facilities would rank Cumberworth with some of the best in the Huddersfield District League, where the senior teams play.
Mr Smith, who has been the driving force behind the
lottery bid, thanked everyone who had made the transformation possible.
Stead and Edwards pre-sented Mr Smith with an award to mark his hard work
