Poppy Fields

Poppy Fields, West Pentire, near Newquay, Cornwall, Monday 17th June 2019.
A remote wildflower field which only blooms for a few weeks a year has become an unlikely tourist attraction.
Visitors travel from miles around to catch a glimpse and photograph the incredible tide of poppies against the blue backdrop of the sea at West Pentire, near Newquay, Cornwall.
The poppies have appeared earlier than normal this year thanks to a hot Easter.
The land is managed by the National Trust, which encourages people to come and see the poppies, but pleads with visitors to stick to the footpaths on the headland. A spokesperson said, The farmland here is managed specifically as a nature reserve for plants and wildlife associated with arable cultivation and is not commercially farmed. It's one of only a few such sites in Britain
