Debenhams in the Bullring - closing down sale. Floors 1 and 4 had been closed with just four days left of the company's High Street life before the shutters come down for good. One of the labels on a pullover was called 1778. The reverse said proudly: "1778 is the year we began our journey at Debenhams. Today the 1778 collection continues our mission to deliver uncomplicated style." Prices are now being slashed to 80 per cent off before the store closed on or before Saturday, May 15. The giant department store was one of the founder members of the Bullring when the centre opened on September 4, 2003. Photographs by Graham Young, Birmingham Mail, May 13, 2021
