Today was a day for Lockhart Campus pupils to help our local
community in Stevenston by growing marigold flowers for their
raised beds at local library. Jean Frew who manages the local
gardens at Stevenston, kindly donated free compost, seeds,
and plants to Lockhart Campus Garden. The pupils thought it
would be nice to grow flowers for their local town library to
make it look nice. The Lockhart pupils worked hard on the day
and planted the library area. This also allowed the pupils to
mingle with the community helpers and have fun. Mr Anderston
who is teaching, ?he John Muir Award?which is a national
environmental award scheme that encourages people from all
backgrounds to connect with earth. This has also brought a
wide range of benefits for the pupils, and one being connected
with the local community helpers.
