Police remain in Finsbury Road, Nottingham, on Thursday May 12, after residents were evacuated when suspected explosive materials were found at a house. Officers were called to a property in Finsbury Road, on the border of Arnold and Top Valley, shortly after 11.50pm on Wednesday May 11th.
A spokesperson for the Nottinghamshire Police said: "Inside they found suspected explosive materials which have since been removed for further testing. A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an explosive substance. He remains in police custody."
Around 25 residents were evacuated from neighbouring properties as a precaution. Officers will remain at the scene for much of Thursday as investigations continue.
