Cllr Simon White unveils the heron sculpture in memory of Phil Shaw who was a longstanding member of the Madeley Tidy Group, on the banks of Madeley Pool, opposite the Offley Arms.
Anne Shaw (NO RELATION) Chair of the Madeley Tidy Group, said "Phil would turn out in all weathers to undertake gardening and litter picking around the village. He did this always with good humour and enthusiasm. The heron was sculpted by Bayley Palmer, who is an apprentice at Achieve Training. The site of the sculpture is central to the community and close to Madeley Pool reflecting Phil? love of wildlife"

NEW 20mph speed limits rolled out on roads in Monmouthshire as part of a pilot project.

Monmouthshire council has used a implementing orders which has see the speed limit on roads in Severnside ?made up of Magor and Undy, Rogiet, Caldicot, Portskewett and Caerwent ?lowered from 30mph.

Reducing the speed limit to 20mph is being trialled in eight areas of Wales ahead of a planned national rollout in 2023
