Manchester street artist Akse puts the final coat of lacquer to the mural of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis on a building on Mill Street, Macclesfield.
Curtis lived in the town whilst in the band until he took his own life in 1980 just prior to the band's first tour of America and his ashes are in Macclesfield cemetary.
The iconic image is taken from a shot by Kevin Cummins, who was the Chief Photographer at the NME.
The mural will be officially unveiled by former bandmate Peter Hook on Saturday 26th March at 1pm
