Around the Town, Castletown Distillery Demi Marriner

Founded in 2018, Lymelight Festival has seen over 600 local bands perform in the town
centre and Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, supported by local events company BID Events, are
pleased to bring the event back and put local music on the map as well as provide a
weekend of free entertainment for people of all ages.
As well as music from over 20 live performers on the main stage including Stepping Lane,
The Time Stealers, Behind the Moon and Bathtub that will be situated on the High Street
outside the Guildhall, there will also be acoustic sessions held at nearby The Carlton and
further live music at nearby bars including Wellers, The Crossways, Ten Green Bottles, The
Cask Bar and Little Vic.
Music on the mainstage on each day will begin from 10:45am with headliners performing on
both days at 7pm, with the event coming to a close at 8pm.
There will also be a small children? fun fair on both the Saturday and Sunday along with hot
street food offerings and an onsite bar for those enjoying the live music.
The Lymelight Festival celebrations on Sunday 1 st May tie in with the annual Staffordshire
Day festivities that sees a a packed programme of events and activities that celebrate our
beautiful, historic, and welcoming county.
Castle Artisan Market will be bringing along the best in makers, bakers and creators on
Sunday May 1 st from 10am running up until 3pm, giving families plenty of time to check out
all of the amazing trader stalls, enjoy a drink and bite to eat, as well as checking out the
fantastic music line up. ?o recognise our County's heritage there'll be?#39;have a go' stations
from the market stalls where you can throw pottery on a wheel or create slab-built items.

Newcastle-under-Lyme BID and venues involved are excited to finally be able to put the
much loved festival back on the map after two years of cancellations and uncertainty.
BID Manager Alex Taylor said: "The past two years has been a really difficult time for the
hospitality industry and has meant two years of cancellations of Lymelight Festival. We?e
delighted that the festival is to return to the town as it? been a part of the local social
calendar for over 8 years.
"We really hope the people of Newcastle-under-Lyme and beyond will support the event
this year as we get back on our feet and bring much needed revenue back into the local
venues so that they can begin to rebuild their businesses."
