DATE: Tuesday, October 5, 2021

ADDRESS: The Crescent Academy, Pinewood Cres, Stoke-on-Trent ST3 6HZ (parking will be available in the schools staff parking area)

The Staffordshire Lieutenancy is proud to support The Queen? Green Canopy, a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty? Platinum Jubilee in 2022. A primary school in each of 69 cities in the UK, along with Crathie Primary School at Balmoral, will each receive 1 of 70 School Celebration Trees donated by the Queen? Green Canopy. This is the first initiative within the ?lant a Tree for the Jubilee? The selected schools in Staffordshire cities are The Crescent Academy in Stoke and Charnwood Primary School in Lichfield. This event will be the first Queen? Green Canopy in Staffordshire.

At 2.15 the school pupils will be outside and have made/decorated their own crown so will be wearing these for the event.
Once outside, their Head Boy and Girl will deliver a speech using the school's PA system.
The children have been practising the National Anthem and so will sing the first verse after the speeches
The tree is then to be gifted by the Lord Lieutenant and planted.
Confetti cannons will be fired by each class of red, white and blue confetti once the tree is in the ground
There will be an opportunity to speak to pupils from the school, the Lord Lieutenant, the Lord Mayor and Cllr Janine Bridges, cabinet member for education
