Aaron Bell, Conservative MP for Newcastle under Lyme officially launched the book vending machine at Churchfields County Primary School, Chesterton. The machine gives the students the chance to pick their own reward books after good behaviour.

Julie Mawdsley, English Reading Lead said "Churchfields Primary School in Chesterton love reading and have recently appointed school reading ambassadors who play a vital role in promoting reading with a wide range of different activities across all key stages. All the rewards in school are connected to reading and one major initiative they have been successful at purchasing is a book vending machine. The machine has been partly sponsored by local companies. Every week a child from each class is rewarded with a token which they can use to choose a book from the machine"

I'm going to see Kirk and Bev Shenton of Hankelow Hall, Hall Lane, Hankelow, CW3 0JB (near Nantwich) on Friday at 9:30am to do a profile piece about them and the renovations to the hall. They are originally from Knutton and Hartshill respectively and are still very proud Stokies. They've been working on restoring the hall since 1989 and apparently it is now almost finished
