Goals to lay a wreath at every war memorial in East Ayrshire within a 24hour period have been set by a local charity.
The Kilmarnock Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland came up with the idea to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Royal British Legion, Scotland.
The ambitious plans will see each of the regions 29 memorials visited, with members leaving a commemorative poppy wreath on June 27.
Efforts are already underway to fundraise the ?900 needed to pay for the wreaths, but Chairman Stewart Finlay admits the pandemic has made things extra challenging.
"COVID has massively affected us, we can't get to fundraise the way we usually would and it's definitely made it more difficult to engage with people. It? much harder to raise the money but we?e getting there.
?e?e had to rely on social media like Facebook and JustGiving to help us get the funding, usually we would raise money through organising raffles and social events.
"The fallen are never forgotten. It's extremely important to keep their memories alive and to show the younger members of the community why we remember them, why we do this."
The money raised will be used to purchase the wreaths from the Lady Haig Poppy Factory.
Lady Haig is part of Poppy Scotland who after being hard hit by the pandemic recently announced plans to close its Kilmarnock high street offices.
Anyone wishing to donate can do so through JustGiving using the link:
Supporters can also opt to have a loved ones name commemorated on the wreath at their chosen War Memorial during the event.
