Residents on Bright Street in Meir have spent time refurbishing the alleyway behind the houses. They've put down bark and astroturf and are hoping to use it as a community space.

The Bierkeller, Shooters Bar and Around The World opened on Broad Street in December 2016 but it has not reopened in time for the Euros - the delayed Euro 2020 tournament began on June 11, 2021. The West Midlands Metro tram Westside Phase 2 tram extension is not expected to go into service between Centenary Square and 54 Hagley Road until December and with work still being done on the route it has not reopened to ordinary traffic between Berkley Street and Bishopsgate Street,
