Seen (L-R) are Jo Robinson ( Customer Service Advisor) Peter Till (Warehouse manager Newcastle Staffs Foodbank) Hilary Biggin (Church Liaison) and Sharon Ward ( PA to Hospital Director). With the sleigh and goods donated.
Nuffield Health North Staffs Hospital from Monday 8th November have been supporting our local foodbank and have an extra special drop off point for The Trussell Trust in our main reception, we felt we wanted to support this cause to help local families in need this Christmas.
As a nation, we know it isn? right that anyone should be left hungry or living in extreme poverty. But whilst we work for long-term change, the network of food banks provides emergency food and compassionate, dignified support to people locked in crisis.
There are over 1,200 food bank centres in the network. The services provided by food banks varies from area to area as they react to the needs of their community to provide help and support to local people in crisis.
Jo Robinson (Administrator) along with Sharon Ward (Personal Assistant) obtained a Sleigh for use to store all donations received, the sleigh has already been emptied once by our local foodbank representatives, this is our second collection and we are hoping to fill it again before the end of the year.
Our staff, Consultants and some patients have donated items and we feel it has been a great central talking / drop-off point in our main reception. As a Charity ourselves we hope we have helped to support lots of families in our local area this Christmas and want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Nuffield Health North Staffs.
Peter Till the warehouse manager for Newcastle Staffs Foodbank said It's been a fantastic effort, without the support and generosity of organisations like Nuffield Health we would not be able to function as a foodbank, we cannot thank them enough
