Subject - Our pages today look back at the M62 and the Ouse Bridge, carrying the M62 over the River Ouse, between junctions 36 and 37. The?einforced concrete?late girder bridge?pans?he River Ouse?etween?oole?nd?owden in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
It carries the?62?nd was built between 1973 and 1976 by?ostain. Designed by?cott Wilson Kirkpatrick & Partners, the bridge was officially opened to traffic on May 24th, 1976, by?ohn Gilbert,?he?abour?inister of Transport. The opening was attended by dignitaries from mmost of thebtwons and cities served by the M62 as this was the final section which linked the motorway right across the north of England.
