Home Secretary Roy Jenkins with his wife Jennifer at St Peters Church Hall polling station on Portobello Road, London, to cast their votes in the referendum on the United Kingdom's continued membership in the European Communities.
The majority of the electorate supported the continuation of membership, with 67% voting "Yes".
